Our partner activities
We have selected several activities close to La Tillaie. All of these activities are offered by professionals that we know and recommend.
The Horseback Ride
During the day or at sunset, set off on horseback to discover the Brouage marshes!
You ride Camargue horses from “La manade de Brouage” breeding and discover their traditional equipment (saddle, bridle). Mathieu, your guide, accompanies you to live this unique experience one hundred percent nature. Accessible to all, whether you are a beginner or an experienced ride
The Bike Excursion
Go on an adventure on an ultra-comfortable bike (choice of electric or classic) in total autonomy: You will be provided with a map with the route of approximately 10 km to take. This circuit is easy even when you don’t have a great sense of direction. On this card, flash the QR codes to listen to audios offering you to know more about the fauna, the flora but also about the profession of Camargue horse breeders. You will come across horses, foals born the same year as well as a large number of water birds.
Playful and educational moment in the middle of nature! The little extra, you go through the village of Brouage on the way back, ideal for…eating a crepe for a snack or bringing back some souvenirs in the basket of your bike!
The Carriage Ride
To the rhythm of horses and the sound of hooves, discover the marshland comfortably in a horse-drawn carriage led by Mathieu. The walks take place one day a week (probably on Wednesdays) from La Manade on the way to Brouage. Stop at Brouage for a ‘heritage and culinary’ visit (to be booked at the tourist office) with oyster tasting then return by horse-drawn carriage to the site.
Visit and Tasting of Cognac and Pineau
At the Logis de Folle Blanche, you will be welcomed by the Bossuet family in a typical 17th century Charentaise built in the middle of the vines.
Paul Bossuet, harvesting owner, is an independent winemaker who produces cognac, pineau and fruit liqueurs. His work is regularly awarded medals in the competitions of the great wines of France.
The free visit, by appointment only, lasts approximately 1 hour. You will discover there alembic, cellar and the traditional methods of elaboration of cognac and pineau. It ends with a tasting of the house alcohols.
Food-Wine Pairing Discovery Workshop
At “Vins d’ici et d’ailleurs” you will be welcomed by Elsa, passionate about viticulture and wines in general. Elsa offers a “discovery tasting” workshop of food and wine pairing with 3 local wines at the price of 20€/person.
Hike in the Middle of the Vines
The Domaine de la Chauvillière invites you to follow its winegrower’s path, a kind of educational path along which you will find panels that will explain the profession of winegrower to you. At your disposal also a table near a source on which you can picnic in the middle of nature.
